Every Child Matters

Created in honour of Every Child Matters, these earrings are a wearable expression of remembrance, recognition, and the importance of honouring every Indigenous child.

At the center sits an Every Child Matters resin centerpiece, surrounded by layers of vibrant orange and black glass seed beads. Rows of sparkling rhinestone accents bring light and dimension to the design, while the contrasting black beadwork creates a bold frame around the signature orange centerpiece.

Each earring is carefully hand-beaded and sewn onto a felt base, finished with a durable vinyl backing, and individually beaded around the outer edge to fully enclose the piece and create a polished, seamless finish.

At approximately 1.5" × 1.5", these are substantial statement earrings. Each earring weighs approximately 0.4 oz, so I recommend selecting the fingernail-style post for additional support and improved weight distribution across the earlobe.

The orange shirt and Every Child Matters movement honour the children who were taken from their families and communities and forced to attend residential schools, those who never returned home, the Survivors, their families, and the generations who continue to be impacted by the residential school system.

These earrings were created as a piece of remembrance and recognition, carrying the message that Every Child Matters.
